Civit Consulting offer a range of Civil Engineering design consultancy services (clues in the name). This ranges from early feasibility studies, planning deliverables through tender, construction and CMT roles.
SuDS & Drainage Strategies
It is increasingly common for new developments to require a SuDS strategy at planning stage. While each authority applies its own local criteria, requirements are typically triggered for major development, schemes of 10 or more dwellings, sites greater than 1 hectare, or locations identified as surface water flood risk hotspots, such as Critical Drainage Areas.
We assess site constraints, ground conditions, and local drainage policy to develop compliant and deliverable SuDS strategies. This includes early engagement with the LLFA where required, coordination with the design team, and consideration of long-term maintenance and adoption to support a de-risked planning application.
Flood Risk Analysis
FRAs are typically required for development within Flood Zones 2 or 3, for major developments in Flood Zone 1, or where a site is affected by surface water, groundwater, reservoir, or tidal flood risk.
Our FRAs are prepared in line with national and local policy, using appropriate hydraulic modelling, climate change allowances, and flood mitigation measures. We focus on proportionate assessments that clearly demonstrate acceptability of risk while supporting viable development.
Highway & Junction Design
We undertake highway and external works design in accordance with local authority standards and DMRB or Manual for Streets guidance, coordinating closely with architects and clients to ensure layouts are safe, compliant, and efficient.
Foul Discharge Solutions
We develop foul drainage strategies based on site constraints, capacity assessments, and discussions with statutory undertakers where applicable.
Civit can lead the design of new Sewage Treatment Plant systems & disposal of the treated effluent in coordination with the Environment Agency and the General Binding Rules.
Feasibility Studies
At early stages, we provide high-level feasibility input to identify constraints, risks, and opportunities. Our advice supports informed decision-making by testing layout options, servicing strategies, and planning viability before detailed design is progressed.
